TruAlert: Emergency Text Messaging Service

Truman State University offers an emergency messaging system available to faculty, staff and students. The program sends a text to all enrolled cell phones in the event of an emergency at the University.

Starting Feb. 14, 2024, any necessary TruAlert emails will come from truman@email.getrave.com. The sender address will be a no-reply email address, meaning if an individual attempts to reply to the email message, it will not go to anyone.

How to sign up for TruAlerts

You can sign up for the emergency text messaging service or update your text messaging information through TruView:

  1. Sign in to TruView.
  2. Go to Tools > Everyday Tools > Personal Information Menu.
  3. Click on Update Emergency Text Messaging Information.
  4. Enter or update your information. You can register up to three mobile numbers to receive alerts (please contact your service provider to ensure that your phone can receive such messages).
  5. Click on Save or Submit Changes.
