All members of the Truman State University community are encouraged to report any crime committed on campus to the Department of Public Safety by calling 911.

Reported calls are investigated and referred to the appropriate department or office for action. A Silent Witness Program is available for those who wish to remain anonymous.

The Department of Public Safety works very closely with the Kirksville Police Department and other law enforcement agencies to assist them with incidents which may occur on or off campus. Public safety officers, Residential Living staff members and the Kirksville City Police enforce laws and University regulations, such as underage drinking and use of controlled substances and weapons.

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the residence halls or on campus. Illegal drugs, firearms, and dangerous weapons of any type are not allowed on campus. Students who violate these regulations face University disciplinary sanctions and/or criminal charges.
